The Immortal Hunter (Book 11 of Argeneau Series) by Lynsay Sands
"Even vampires need a vacation. But Decker Argeneau's ends abruptly when he's asked to help hunt the group of rogue vampires targeting mortals -- one that might include a defector in his own family. Before he can worry about that, though, he's got to rescue the latest victim. It's all part of the job, including taking a bullet for a beautiful doctor.
Dr. Danielle McGill doesn't know if she can trust the man who just saved her life. There are too many questions, such as what is the secret organization he says he's part of, and why do his wounds hardly bleed? However, with her sister in the hands of some dangerous men, she doesn't have much choice but to trust him.
Except now Decker's talking about life mates and awakening a passion that's taking Dani beyond anything she's ever known. Being undead may not be half-bad...especially if it means spending forever with a man who would love her with his mind, body, and immortal soul."
(Description provided by: http://www.lynsaysands.net/books/argeneau/immortalhunter.html)
Decker and Bricker from the previous book are sent out to find the hunter turned rogue Nicholas Argeneau who was spotted in a city nearby Deckers cabin. It turns out that the spotting was not accidental. Nicholas expected to have enforcers sent and has lead them straight to a vicious group of Rogues.
Nicholas had spotted the Rogues kidnapping two women that very night and the Enforcers join up with him to help capture the Rogues and release the girls. That is, until the battle breaks out and one of the Rogues kidnap one of the girls and flees the scene with Nicholas chasing.
Decker and Bricker are left with the other girl, Dani, a human and a group of Rogues to transport back to council for judgement.
Dani is frantic as she learns her younger sister was taken away and she must rely on the two strange men who appeared from nowhere. She doesn't know who to trust or if she can even trust herself as her emotions are confused by a yearning for the man name Decker.
The story was very good. Full of drama and romance under the most bizarre of circumstances. Any of the books featuring Bricker are bound to have laughs as well. He has quickly become one of my favorite Characters even though he has only been cast in a supporting light.
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite series of all times. Can't wait to get on to the next one.
