Welcome to the another edition of This & That. What's that you say? Well it's a little of this and a little of that. Who's Us? That's exactly the point of This & That. Do you know anything about the Reviewer here? Or who is that person(s) you're talking to on Facebook and Twitter? You're about to!
Happy Weekend everyone!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving day and a SAFE Black Friday!
This past week as come with a lot of ups and downs for me but there is nothing like the holidays to put things into perspective. The stress and drama from work and life seem to pale when your spending time with loved ones. At least.. that is the case for me. I don't have any crazy drunk Uncles or psycho Aunts. My family is pretty darn cool.
I'm also kind of in a 'burnt out' phase. I'm burnt out on blogging, on reading, on reviewing. It's a lot of upkeep! My boyfriend teases me a lot about working outside of work so much. And he's right. It can be a lot of work, but then again when you love what you do (and I do love reading) it doesn't tend to seem like work most of the time. And then there are times like now.. lol. When it is feeling that way. The cool thing is that I can spend time working on different things when it comes to all of this. Sometimes I focus solely on reading, other times its answering the bajillion emails (i kid i kid), other times it's formatting posts and trying to 'get ahead' by prescheduling posts. There is so many different parts to running this here that there is never a dull moment or mundane task. I can always find something 'fun' to do if I don't feel like reading.
Right now I've spent the last 24 hours playing my Nintendo DS. I got like 6 new games and I'm addicted! LOL I've actually spent a FULL 24 hours NOT doing anything blog/reading related. I must admit.. it feels good! SO I've decided that December will be a slow month review wise. I've made some promises that I will keep but other than that I'm going to allow myself to 'relax' a bit and focus on the upcoming Holiday and preparing for it. I think I had mentioned it would be slowing down around here back in October and yet November was a busy as normal. Which was fine, it worked out that way. But between my 'burnt out', my new exciting DS games and the big ol Christmas day looming.. well.. December will be slower.
BUT things will be back in full kick a$$ mode in January. Can you believe it's going to be 2012?!
So tell me.. Did you have a crazy uncle or psycho aunt at your Thanksgiving?

Until next week Ladies and Gents: Be Safe - No Paper Cuts!
Hi everyone! How was your short work week? Good I hope!
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I have to admit...for the first time...I felt I don’t want to say holiday blues...but I don’t have another term for it. But, as I start to pity myself for not being where I want to be in life right now and not having a job...and all that good stuff. I think back to last year around this time, I wasn’t sure where I would be living or what was definite.
I’ve learned to appreciate the roof over your head. It’s easy to get caught up in pity, but truthfully, a scary feeling not knowing if you will have a roof over your head. I have definitely learned to appreciate that. Working on the other appreciations. But, good health should be up there too. You may have a headache one day or a cold but some people are struggling out there with deadly diseases. My parents’ friend, who I have know all my life, is battling Leukemia right now. A very aggressive and fast moving illness. It puts the important things in life in perspective real fast.
Family and friends are very important. I only have a couple of friends and a handful of family, but my parents, my best friend & my husband have been very supportive of me and that really has made a difference.
Facebook friends too... I have “met” so many great people on facebook. Wish we could all meet and have a huge party. :o) Seriously...my facebook peeps have been there for me and keep my sanity! :o)
And this blog and facebook page have definitely helped me to “meet” and connect with people. Also to network and help me break out of my shell and start writing. Something I have always wanted to do, but don’t have the confidence to do. It’s been a slow process…but I am working through.
I have no idea what the future holds. And unfortunately all the best laid out plans...a lot of the time...just don’t work out. But, maybe that just means that there is a different plan that hasn’t been laid out yet.
The best is yet to come. And nothing is definite.
I’ll keep saying this until I believe it.
Until next time guys and dolls...
May the force be with you!
Stay Tuned each Sunday for a dose of This & That!
