Lets Talk About It:

The Delusion was an absolutely fantastic read. It follows the story of Owen, a high school student who wakes up one day, after drinking an unknown substance, and sees things. Chains around people's neck hanging down their back and cords protruding out of their head. Owen can't get anyone to believe him, not his mom, not his best friend and he's not even sure if he believes himself. That is until he spots Ray Anne chain free and she believes him. Together they try to figure out what is going on.

What an interesting concept. The chains that are wrapped around the neck have names associated with them and from what I can understand, what I believe these are meant to represent unresolved problems that the chained person has with the name on their chain. The cords protruding from the head held words like bitter, hopeless, misery, all things that can describe how person would feel. It's actually really deep when you started to think about it. Here are these chains, unresolved issues and cords, feelings, dragging you down. As you progress through the book it gets a little bit religious, not overly so and the message could be applied to anyone, religious or not. What I took away from the book not only that it was a fantastic SciFi / Paranormal read but that in order to live you need to free yourself from these chains and cords basically freeing yourself from the negative feelings about yourself, negative emotions and forgiving people so that these things don't drag you down or hold you back.

I'd recommend anyone who enjoys sci-fi, paranormal and/or spiritual type books to give this one a try.
